Baby Carriage Thank You

Who doesn't like cute babies waving? Seriously. My cousin is having her first baby so of course I jumped at the chance to create a custom thank you card for her baby shower.

I tied the card to the shower's theme of "Cute as a Button" with the button wheels and handle-end.

My cousin loves her purple and pink and has a serious thing for Minnie Mouse so I made sure to include her favorites.

I'm thinking that if I switch Minnie to a teddy bear or bunny and get rid of the "C" this can be a great printable piece. I can shift the colors so it can be for a boy or gender neutral. Sweet! I'll just add that to my long list of good ideas.

Nursery Name Art: Maya Ann

Hi Maya Ann!  I'm sorry this is delayed but your Godmother has patiently waited for me to get to project so that I could make sure it was just right for you.

Nursery Name Art: Owls for Gavin

I hope little Gavin thinks this new art piece goes well with his owl themed bedroom.  Welcome to the world Gavin!

Little Fox

I did this a while back for a friend's shower and forgot to share it.  It's based off a fabric from Birch Fabrics called Scamper, which the mama used for the crib bedding.  It's super cute and I love that I could make an invite to reflect the little one's room.
(names and places have been changed to protect the innocent)

Kids at the Ball

Why hello there!  Long time no chat.  I've been busy with client projects and summer activities.  Here's a client piece that I didn't get to post earlier in the summer.

Max's Cowboy Name Nursery Art

A client and friend commissioned me to create a cowboy themed name art piece for her friend's new little one.  I jumped at the chance.  First, I love the name Max.  Second, cowboy stuff is awesome.  I've been wanting the perfect pair of cowboy boots for years, but still haven't found them.  Couldn't you just see little Max riding off into the sunset on this trusty steed?

Vintage Distressed Custom Sign Print

Ahhh, love is in the air!  I recently created a cool piece for a client to give as a gift to their newly engaged brother and future sister-in-law.  They liked a monogram painting I did last year but needed something that could be sent via snail mail to California.  Based off of some info about the couple's decor style and wedding theme I designed this 16 x 20 inch piece and had it printed by Ritz Photo onto their Deep Matte paper.
It was shipped directly to the couple so I didn't get to see it in person, but I'm told they love their new artwork and it works perfectly with their modern rustic decor.

Dottie's Attic

Dottie's Attic is an adorable online shop that sells vintage housewares.  Courtney always has something in her store that catches my eye.  Right now I'm wondering where I might put this Vintage Chocolate Brown Teapot.  Courtney wanted a banner and profile image for her Etsy shop that showcased "Dottie", the quirky fun shop icon.  It didn't take long for Dottie and brand to come to life.

Cupcakes by Chantal

Cupcakes by Chantel are delicious and adorable, so should be the logo.  The cupcake graphic was hand drawn by Chantel.  I cleaned it up, added a great font, and before you could say "with a cherry on top" Chantel was up and running with a new logo and Facebook profile image for Cupcakes by Chantel.

July Update

It's been a while since I last posted.  I've been chipping away at client projects, including a logo for a small sweets service,
a few more black and white images,
and creating artwork to sell when I open my online store.  You may remember this guy from a while back.  I revisited him and played with some digitial collage techniques I've been dying to try out.
Also chipping away is my tolerance for sleep deprivation because of a teething infant and my patience because of an increasingly independent (and defiant) toddler.  I know that if I survive this time, I will look back on it all in a few years and miss it, even just a little bit.

Work in Process

It's been a while since I last posted, but I haven't been slacking, I promise!  I've been working on client projects and getting my goodness together so that I can open my online store (woot woot!  More to come on that later).  To prove that haven't lounging around reading celebrity magazines in my PJs (not that a mom of two small kiddos could do that anyway), here's a snapshot of a current illustration in progress.  Can you figure out each family member?

Another project complete

Here's a montage of a few illustrations completed to accompany the book I illustrated earlier in the year, For the Love of Emrys by Barbara Ann Simone.  These are part of the history of the dragonfly character, Mystie, which will be available for download on the site Magical Planet.
